Hi. I'm Matt. I'm some twenty-something. I have vague dreams of being a music journalist. Either that or a Rock Star. I haven't decided yet. I mainly just post random shit about stuff that I like or things that have happened to me in my not-so-thrilling day to day life. I'm kind of a nerd, but an awesome one.

So yeah. This is a thing that is happening I guess? It looks like it could be pretty cool though. I’m not entirely sure that it’s a good thing or that it is in any way necessary or relevant or anything like that. I mean, it says it’s giving a bit of back story to the original characters and showing what they were doing before the events in the original series. With an extra ‘Tales of the Black Freighter’-esque mini-series added on (What this Crimson Corsair thing is all about). But I’m fairly sure that at least 90% of the characters got AT LEAST an explanation of their origins, if not a full fucking story about them (in particular Rorschach and Dr. Manhattan). I can’t help but feel that it’s just a way to cash in on the original series and an effort to make some kind of franchise out of it. Which kind of sucks. But I’ll still read it anyway. Because it might just turn out to be really good. At least they’ve got some good writers taking part in it. Notably J. Michael Straczynski, whose work on Superman just before the ‘New 52’ reboot was pretty amazing.
Obviously Alan Moore isn’t involved, and if he heard about it he’d either call DC a bunch of bastards or say he never cared much for the story in the first place. I mean, no disrespect to the chap, he wrote 2 of the greatest comic book series of all time in Watchmen and V for Vendetta, but he needs to fucking lighten up. I read an interview with him a few months back and he’s such a miserable fucker. It seems like he almost deliberately hates everything to do with his own work. I mean, fair enough if you don’t want a film made of it or whatever, but don’t be a dick and disown it. I’m not saying ‘FUCK ALAN MOORE’ or anything like that, but seriously dude, cheer the fuck up.
Anyway yeah, that’s what I think about this whole ‘Before Watchmen’ thing. Because you all obviously wanted to know.
